Ontario Marijuana Map

Justin Trudeau included the legalization of marijuana (cannabis) in his 2015 election platform. In 2016, he announced that July 1st, 2018 would be the date for decriminalization and left it up to the provinces to regulate. On Sept 7th, 2017, Ontario announced cannabis will be distributed similarly to alcohol and controlled by an LCBO subsidiary named CCBO. The biggest criticism of this plan is that many consumers will continue to buy from the black market for convenience and privacy. In the maps below green balloons indicate towns likely to receive CCBO stores, while pink is for unlikely.
